Comfortable May 4, 2009 P. OBrien (Western PA) Comfortable chair for my tall/large husband. It did need the side ropes replaced after a year of much use.
Great chair August 31, 2008 E. Lemberger (NY USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I had something similar years back. This is a very well made, comfortable and sturdy chair. Very happy with this purchase!
Some problems, but does the job. August 3, 2008 E. Fieseler (USA) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I would give this chair five stars, except for a few troublesome things. Most annoying is that the levers that are supposed to lock the chair in position do not do the job. They may slow the descent, but the chair is definitely not locked, and if you're not balanced carefully or if you move wrong while napping, you will suddenly sit up. I've read about this problem in various reviews around the web, so it's not just a malfunction in my chair. This is an engineering problem that needs to be solved. In the meantime, best advice is to sit *way back* so that most of your body weight is in the upper half of the chair. (And hold the cat on your stomach, not on your thighs.) Additional nuisances: First: while the pillow that is on the chair is the perfect size for lumbar support, it is too thin for neck support and needs to be supplemented; really, the chair should come with two pillows. Second: the little plastic feet come off the tubular frame, and I've finally just taken all four of them off. Third: the microfiber arm inserts snag, and while they're better than hard plastic arms and do in fact make good mousepads, they don't look new for long. All that said, I would buy this chair again. Because of it, my injured foot is healing faster and I can make it through the day with less pain.
EDIT: I've used this chair *in my living room* every day for nearly two years now. It is EXCELLENT. Fifteen minutes resting in the farthest back position in this chair feels equal to a two hour nap. It's wonderful. I still have to supplement the neck pillow for reading. Everybody needs this chair. Truly wonderful.
RSX XL LAGRAND RECLINER June 8, 2006 Frank J. Hackl 5 out of 7 found this review helpful
I received a painful injury and almost lost my finger to this recliner. I grabbed the arm rest, and tried to slide back into the recliner. The mechanism under the arm rest snapped closed on my finger. I could not get out of this "trap". Had my wife not been there to help, I would have lost my finger. No way should this chair be sold to an unsuspecting public!
